So Watt have multiple formats and sizings of pegboards to help you solve any of your creative storage solutions.

What is a Pegboard?

A So Watt Peg board is a panel of Australian hoop Pine with an evenly cut grid of holes across it, that is often mounted on a wall or free standing with legs. The benefit of having a grid of holes to choose from is that allows the user to creatively shape the configuration of their shelving allowing for a piece of Australian furniture tailored to the item its storing.

What are Pegboards made from?

So Watt only use the best for our wooden pegboards. We make all of them out of 18mm Hoop pine that is 100% Australian grown and made. One benefits of hoop pine is that it is a plantation grown timber, meaning no old growth forests are being cut down to make your Australian furniture. Instead carbon is being taken out of the atmosphere and stored in your uniquely made peg board. Because we make everything on commission at So Watt it means that we don’t have excess stock to have Pegboard for sale unfortunately, Although we do try to make the pricing as accessible as possible for everyone.

What’s on offer with our Pegboards?

  • Free standing Pegboard
One of the two main types of pegboards that we offer at So Watt is the free standing Peg board. The free standing comes two feet allowing it to be placed anywhere, which is ideal for a shop fit out or for a divider in a living space.
  • Pegboard panel
The pegboard panel comes in many sizes making it a versatile solution to many storage solutions. The best thing about Pegboard panels is that they can be hung absolutely anywhere solving some of life's most annoying storage problems.
Desk pegboards are a great solution to working from home, which is why we recommend mounting a pegboard panel above a work station to have some practical necessities such as pencils and paper nearby, or even photos of loved ones at eye height.
  • Pegboard shelf
So Watt offers 7 different sizes of Peg Board shelves, which means whatever size panel you buy we have a multitude of shelves to fit it out and get it looking sufficiently organic. All of our shelves are made from Australian grown hoop pine, so you can rest assured that all the materials in your pegboard will be speaking to each other.
  • Pegboard peg
So Watt sells individual pegs because sometimes all that is needed is a simple peg protruding from your board to find the perfect spot for a jacket or hat. The individual pegs that So Watt make and sell are made from Tasmanian Oak, which is a native Australian timber that is exceptionally strong and supple in colour, which perfectly matches the Hoop pine that it compliments.

Because we ship big pieces of precious Australian made furniture, we need to pay professionals so we know your pieces are safe to ship Australia-wide. This means we use private couriers as Australia post don’t ship packages on the scale that we require. Even though we can ship to anywhere in Australia we love it if you want to pick up your piece. FAQ

Because our Wooden pegboards come in all different sizes, they really don't need much space at all. However the minimum space is 600mm by 600mm as that is the smallest sized peg board So Watt offer.

We have made it very easy to install our pegboards! We use a piece of kit called a ‘split batten’ which is screwed into the wall and then slots onto the panel, however the fixing is only as strong as the wall, so its important that you screw into brick or stud behind the plaster. Watch our handy video!

The best thing about the pegboard panels is that they’re extremely versatile, so they can be as close to the wall as the ‘split batten’ allows.

The Amount of weight that your timber pegboard can take is mostly up to how well its been installed and what its been installed into. This means that if you screw into a brick wall your beg board should be able to take a lot of weight!

Sometimes there can be 00.5mm discrepancy between the sizes of the holes and the sizes of the Oak dowels that are put into them. This is unavoidable in manufacturing because of the way that timber can expand and contract depending on the moisture levels in its environment. So we recommend putting a piece of masking tape around the base of the oak dowel, which can make up for the discrepancy and stop the dowels from moving around in the holes.
