Creating large scale artworks, installations and sculptural work is made more accessible when our team of Industrial Designers consider the creative process every step of the way, alongside the structural and technical the are integral to a successful and long-standing installation.
We work in collaboration with Art Pharmacy and Re-Activate to deliver activations and artworks working to meet the clients brief for any site in the public or private sectors.
Creative activations are an important and significant way to connect business with the communities that host them. We strongly believe in inclusive art that elevates workplaces and public spaces to bring an inspiring environment. Artworks in shared spaces that are for everyone support a community enjoyment and create common ground.
Art is an investment and a fantastic way to elevate under-utilised areas from public walkways to shop front hoarding, foyers to lunch rooms and everywhere in between.
Founders Jonathan and Sophie are active and enthusiastic participants of Sydney’s art scene. They create pieces from old tools, machinery parts and offcuts and consider it an important outlet that contributes to the skills they bring to client work. In some cases these experiments have become client commissions or have inspired pieces in their furniture offering.
Shirlow St Studios
So Watt are lucky enough to share their precinct with SHIRLOW STREET STUDIOS, the creative home of emerging and established artists WILLIAM COOKE, CYBELE COX, STEVIE FIELDSEND, DAVID GRIGGS, PHILJAMES, MASON KIMBER, IZABELA PLUTA and TIM SILVER.
Established by Art Incubator in early 2019, SHIRLOW STREET STUDIOS is a new multi-studio facility in the booming suburb of Marrickville, famed for its eclectic mix of arts studios, industrial workshops and boutique cafes. Featuring eight purpose-built creative studios and a communal area, SHIRLOW STREET STUDIOS offers Sydney-based visual artists a new opportunity to further their professional practice through subsidised rent and inclusive peer-support platforms, with career opportunities scheduled throughout the year.
Working across painting, sculpture, photography, and installation, the eight artists are among the most dynamic and promising creatives working in Sydney today—with a combined portfolio of national and international exhibitions, institutional commissions and notable art prizes under their belts.
To celebrate the launch of SHIRLOW STREET STUDIOS, Art Incubator and the eight resident artists opened their studio doors to the public for one day on Saturday 4 May. The program involved studio tours and meet & greets to give visitors a rare insight into their multifaceted practices. View open studios day images or read our Media Release for more information.
