SKETCH IT OUT
Foundry Artisan Coffee have a distinctive modern steampunk style, but purchased a top of the range espresso machine which had more of a space age look. Working with the CAD plans of their Nuova Simonelli Aurelia II Espresso Machine, we plot the overall shape and style for the new steampunk housing.
Laser cut steel
We created custom baskets to attach to the housing via swinging arms. The baskets were made to fit various high use items specific to the Foundry Barista's work flow.
The baskets then got a decent helping of bling. Brass hexagonal spacers are a favourite of ours and they suited Foundry's style perfectly.
Three levels of condiment baskets can swing toward the barista for sugar or outwards to the customer for added cinnamon sprinkles!
cups + lids
Copper tubes with a beautiful patina finish allow a stack of coffee cups and a stack of lids to drop into the basket below as the space is made available. No more triple lid scenario because the barista is grabbing the lids in a hurry!
every detail counts
Spoons on both sides for the dual team at Foundry. And yes there is even a handmade rubber tea towel holder!
wrap and strap
Nothing leaves our studio without the 'wrap and strap' treatment. Packaging deserves as much attention as the piece inside - especially when this guy is traveling from Sydney to the gigantic Indooroopilly Shopping Centre in Brisbane.
We customised our Comrade Adams lamp especially for Foundry. It's been quite a star on their review pages such as Bean Hunter and gets the vibe of the cafe across to prospective visitors.
